Passive solar shading, built into the glass.

How does it work?

Our MicroStructure

Solar shading that lives inside the glass. No louvres, no blinds, no limits on what your building can look like.

Hiding in plain sight

No moving parts. Just Physics.

MicroShade® is an ultra-thin, microstructured film that’s
virtually invisible to the naked eye. Laminated onto the
inner face of the outer pane within a standard insulating
glass unit, it’s protected from the weather and requires no
control units, no configuration, and no maintenance.

MicroShade® features a precision honeycomb geometry.
The arched profile adds robustness, while the honeycomb
pattern provides strength in a very thin layer. Its performance is defined by the aspect ratio, the height of the
micro lamellas relative to the spacing between them,
which determines how much incoming light and solar
energy is reflected at different sun angles

Only Good Vibes Gets a pass

Not a glass product.
A shading solution.

Although MicroShade® is integrated into the glazing unit,
it should be viewed not as a glass product, but as a solar
shading solution. Its performance is angle-dependent,
meaning it changes with the sun’s position.

In summer, when the sun is high, the microstructure
can deliver up to 100% beam shading while maintaining
natural daylight, a clear view out, and visual comfort. In
winter, when the sun is low, it allows around 35% solar
transmittance, helping capture useful heat and reduce
heating demand.

This passive, automatic response to the sun’s angle is
what sets MicroShade® apart from conventional shading
solutions.

Simple by design.

The microstructure does one thing exceptionally well. Watch how the geometry works with the sun to deliver shade in summer and warmth in winter, with nothing to adjust and nothing to maintain.

Long term performance

The Benchmark for Solar Shading

No other shading solution delivers this combination of thermal control, natural daylight, and unobstructed views. Integrated into the glazing itself, it performs from day one and continues to do so for the lifetime of the pane.

Project Case

Where Modern Performance
Meets Historic Surroundings

Panoramic canal views, a historic neighbourhood and south-facing facades. The brief demanded unobstructed views, a comfortable indoor climate and a building expression that respected its surroundings. All three at once.
